Hi Allan I really enjoyed reading this. I was struck by how the lockdown period gave us all time to slow down enough to contemplate life in a different way and was sad when you said that when it ended you 'forgot all about islands talking to me and the spirit of sacred mountains.' I noticed this in my life too - how quickly we can revert back to our 'normal ways'. Your writing inivites me to reconnect again with the spirit of the lockdown period and the need to contemplate and embrace the sacredness of life. I look forward to reading the 36 views of Coquet Island.....what a great project you have created.

Thanks Janet. It feels like there's more to write and say about lockdown and its mysterious qualities. One day perhaps...but for now it's all about the beauties of Coquet Island. Thanks for your encouragement and support.

What an interesting article and idea, Allan! I am impressed by your Japanese studies during the lockdown and intrigued by the idea of writing about one topic from many different viewpoints. I think I will experiment with this idea, too!

Thanks Clarice - I'm afraid my ability to remember much of the Japanese I learned at that time is less impressive! I hope you will enjoy seeing, reading and hearing the various 'views' as they come out.

It was fantastic to meet you and I'm so inspired by this project. Let's put something together - an exhibition or readings or performance at the next Alnwick Story Fest.

The modern demands of our world makes it difficult to slow down and observe. I guess we were lucky to have lived in a slower time. Our younguns need a lock down

It's interesting...I hated lockdown at the time but now look back on it with some affection.
